All of us are affected by this at some point in our lives, sadly, many suffer alone in silence over and over.

This 5 day session is designed to help individuals learn more about travelling through grief, loss and trauma in the most empowering way possible, for ourselves and others, that we want to help in our lives. In grief and loss there are no magic bullets, it is a journey for everyone that can be short or long or can last for years. We are all different and manage our recovery differently, therefore, facilitators cannot offer a “cure”, only a way to understand our loss and give us some tools to cope and ways/ideas to help others.

THE YOUTH
PASSING LANE

This 3-day workshop is designed for youth, parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, social workers and those who work with youth. There are considerable issues facing today’s youth. This interactive and informative session delivers current information as well as solutions for issues including: anxiety, anger management, dating violence, depression, grief & loss, healthy lifestyles and relationships. During these collaborative sessions, the solutions often come straight from participants. These solutions and ideas can be taken back and implemented in communities anywhere.

The following will be covered:

  • The Teen Brain – “This Site Under Construction” how teen brains are different and why teens do the things they do.
  • Teen Depression, Anxiety & Worry – all these issues interfere with teens being able to fully develop and participate in school, home & outside activities.
  • Teen Anger Management – triggers and coping techniques.
  • Teens Experiencing Grief & Loss – how teens experience and learn to cope with loss.
  • Dating Violence – what it is, effects on boys & girls.
  • Components of a healthy lifestyle.

DATING VIOLENCE
INFORMATION YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN NEED

This workshop is appropriate for young men and women aged 12 to 19 years. Best suited to be delivered in Junior High & High School settings.

Although most dating violence is experienced by young women, it also happens to boys at an increasing rate. We are hearing more often about girls abusing their boyfriends emotionally, verbally and physically. The young people in attendance will learn what dating violence is, how to recognize the warning signs and what they should do if it happens to them or their friends. They will also learn about healthy relationships. This presentation is delivered in separate sessions to boys and girls. An informational session can also be arranged for parents, caregivers, foster parents, teachers, and other community members.
